Porsche Leipzig GmbH is a wholly-owned subsidiary of Dr. Ing. h.c. F. Porsche AG. Founded in 2000, the plant has developed into a centre of excellence for electromobility in recent years. To integrate the second, electric generation of the Macan at the production site in Saxony, the sports car manufacturer invested some 600 million euros in the fifth plant expansion. A total of around 550 Macan compact SUV vehicles and Panamera sports cars saloons are currently produced at the Leipzig plant every day. 1,270 Carrera GT vehicles were also built here as a limited edition between 2003 and 2006. The Cayenne was produced in Leipzig from 2002 to 2017. Today, more than 4,600 people are employed at Porsche Leipzig.
