This model brought a smile to the faces of many purists, because the 992 Porsche 911 Carrera T came as standard with a seven-speed manual transmission. The Python Green paint of this 2023 example brings even more smiles to everyone who sees it. The lightweight 911 slotted in between the 911 Carrera and the 911 Carrera S and used the 283 kW (385 PS) twin-turbo engine from the base model. It went from 0 to 100 km/h in 4.5 seconds and reached a top speed of 291 km/h. For a particularly purist driving experience, the body sat 10 millimetres lower, and Porsche reduced the amount of noise insulation, making the sound of the six-cylinder boxer engine even more pronounced to the occupants’ ears. The ‘T’ in the model designation stood for touring and traces its history back to the homologation of the 911 T as a touring car in 1968. This first 911 T was offered until 1973. Six years ago, Porsche revived the purist 911 variant with the 991-generation 911 Carrera T. This was followed by ‘T’ variants of other model lines and in 2023 by the 992-generation 911 as the Carrera T. By omitting the rear seats and their associated seatbelts, Porsche has saved more than seven kilos in the ‘T’, dropped a further 4 kg with lightweight glass and shaved off even more weight by skipping insulation material and using a trimmed-down battery. The kerb weight of the purist model is just 1,470 kg.
