From track day visitor to works driver: the Porsche Motorsport Pyramid provides a multi-layered system for all those who enjoy sporty driving.
The way to the top of the pyramid begins with the wide range of courses included in the experience programmes, which extend from driver training with production models in a Porsche Experience Centre, such as the one located at Hockenheimring, to winter and off-road courses, race track training and racing driver training.
One step higher is the Porsche Sports Cup. The professionally organised race weekends include Sprint and Endurance formats: the Porsche Sprint GT Series sets the stage for factory-built Cayman GT4-based race cars, with Cup and GT3 models based on the 911 competing in the Sprint Challenge.
The 911 GT3 Cup cars of the 992 generation also form the basis for the more than 30 national and regional Porsche Carrera Cups and Challenges worldwide, with the Porsche Mobil 1 Supercup in selected Formula 1 races representing the pinnacle of achievement. Those who demonstrate they have the talent at this level are ready for the next step: numerous Porsche customer teams compete in international GT3 championships, such as the DTM or the 24-hour race at the Nürburgring, with the 911 GT3 R. The 911 RSR, the most highly developed competition version of the 911, will retire from the FIA World Endurance Championship WEC after the 2023 season in the GTE Am class.
At the very top of the motorsport pyramid are Porsche's factory teams – competing in the ABB FIA Formula E World Championship with the 99X Electric Gen3 and in the WEC and the IMSA series with the Porsche 963 hybrid prototype. The 99X Electric Gen3 and the Porsche 963 also competes under customer ownership.
