Intensive coaching
Premiere in Melbourne – Ella Seidel qualified for a Grand Slam main draw for the first time in her career at the 2024 Australian Open. Nastasja Schunk celebrated her biggest success to date when reaching the 2021 Wimbledon Juniors final and has already been in action for Porsche Team Germany in the Billie Jean King Cup.
The winners of the German Championship in the past four years have all come from the Porsche Talent Team. Noma Noha Akugue won the title in 2020, Eva Lys in 2021, Ella Seidel in 2022 and Nastasja Schunk in 2023.
By supporting up-and-coming players in the Porsche Talent Team since 2012, Porsche has transferred its successful juniors programme in motorsport to tennis. In close collaboration with the “Deutscher Tennis Bund” (DTB – the German Tennis Association), the primary intention of the support is to make the set-up for talented juniors more professional by enhancing individual coaching and guidance both when practicing and at tournaments. Through the intensive system of fostering promising youngsters, Porsche would like to give them help when taking their first steps on the professional tour.
With the support of Porsche, the select group of talented youngsters can be developed even more intensively. For example, they are gathered together more often for training camps and DTB coaches accompany them more regularly to international tournaments.
Noma Noha Akugue (born in 2003), Nastasja Schunk (2003), Ella Seidel (2005) and Julia Stusek (2008) are currently supported in the Porsche Talent Team.
